Choosing the right therapist matters. We aim to offer a welcoming, respectful and professional space where you can talk openly about what has been happening and consider what may help.
Our team includes experienced clinical support, supervised placement counselling and the administrative work that helps the practice run smoothly. The profiles below explain our roles and the support we offer so you can make an informed choice about which option may be right for you.

Clinical Psychotherapist Lead
Chris Haygarth
I have worked as a psychotherapist for more than 20 years, supporting people with a wide range of personal, emotional and relationship challenges. I work with individuals and couples, both face-to-face and online.
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, loss, low confidence or a sense that something in your life is no longer working as it should. Sometimes the problem is clear. At other times, you may simply know that you do not feel like yourself and want help making sense of why.
My approach is integrative and practical. Rather than assuming that one type of therapy will suit everyone, I draw from different therapeutic approaches and adapt the work to meet your needs, your personality and the situation you are facing.
There are some things we cannot easily see from our own perspective. Just as a second mirror can help us see the back of our head, therapy can reflect thoughts, beliefs, values, patterns and reactions that may be difficult to notice on our own. Some reflections may feel reassuring or even obvious, while others may feel uncomfortable at first. Either way, they can help create clearer understanding, greater self-awareness and more choice.
I aim to offer a calm, respectful and non-judgemental space where difficult subjects can be spoken about honestly. You do not need to worry about feeling embarrassed or about having to present things perfectly. We can begin with where you are.
I offer a free initial taster session so that we can talk about what you are looking for, answer any questions you may have and consider whether working together feels right for you.
Alongside my clinical work, I offer clinical supervision to established counsellors and psychotherapists both individually and group setting. I also provide structured support and supervision for counsellors developing their practice through placement work.

Placement Counsellor
Janos Erdeos
Hello, I’m Janos. I am a placement counsellor working towards qualification and completing my supervised clinical placement with Chorley Therapy.
I offer a calm, respectful and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about what has been happening, consider how it has affected you, and begin to make sense of the thoughts, feelings or patterns that may be contributing to your difficulties.
My approach is primarily person-centred. This means that sessions are shaped around your needs, at your pace and centred around the issues that feel most important to you. I will not assume that one approach suits everyone or tell you what you should do. Instead, we will work together to develop a greater understanding, explore your options and identify changes that may feel realistic and helpful.
I support individuals in rediscovering their sense of purpose and stepping into the version of themselves they truly want to be. Together, we will also work on processing difficult emotions and releasing the weight of the past to help you live more freely in the present.
Placement counselling sessions are offered at a reduced fee of £45 per session. Before therapeutic work begins, you will be offered a free initial taster session and suitability discussion.
This gives you an opportunity to talk about the support you are looking for, ask questions and consider whether working together feels right for you.
As part of my placement, I receive regular clinical supervision and work within Chorley Therapy’s professional, safeguarding and confidentiality arrangements. I have already completed 3 years of training in counselling and have previous experience working therapeutically with people on many and varied challenges they are currently facing and have faced in the past.
I understand that speaking to a counsellor for the first time can feel unfamiliar or daunting. You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what to say or where to begin. We can take the first step together.

Practice Manager
Angela Keane
Angela works behind the scenes to help keep Chorley Therapy running smoothly.
As Practice Manager, she provides administrative and organisational support across the practice, helping to manage the many practical details that support the work we do with clients.
Her responsibilities include general administration, appointment and diary support, invoicing, documentation and the day-to-day systems that help the practice remain organised and responsive.
Clients may not always see the work Angela does, but her support allows therapists to remain focused on providing a professional, reliable and welcoming service.
